Meet Armando

A proud graduate of Franklin High School and a native of Stockton’s Eastside, Armando Valerio is deeply rooted in his community. His educational journey, which began in Stockton Schools and continued at Delta College, culminated in his Master’s and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pacific.

Armando’s career in physical therapy spans over thirty years, a testament to his seasoned expertise and unwavering dedication to the field. He currently applies his wealth of experience at the San Joaquin Public Health Service, managing the Children’s Services Medical Therapy and providing physical and occupational therapy for disabled children at school sites throughout San Joaquin County.

Formerly an adjunct biology instructor at San Joaquin Delta College, Armando has served as a guest lecturer at the University of the Pacific’s Physical Therapy Department. Armando has also received certificates of completion from the Diocese of Stockton, FEMA for Emergency Preparedness, and the San Joaquin County Sheriff Department Citizen’s Academy.

With a deep-rooted passion for serving his community, Armando sits on the San Joaquin County Council of Governments Social Services Transportation Advisory and the California Health Care Facility Citizen Advisory Committees. He is also a Mexican Heritage Center Gallery Board Member and was appointed by the California Highway Patrol Commissioner to the CHP Citizens Advisory Board.

As a Delta Community College Board of Trustee, Armando is a firm believer in the transformative power of education. He sees San Joaquin Delta College as a gateway to higher education and personal enrichment, whether learning a trade, pursuing a degree or certificate, or acquiring new skills to advance one’s career.
